On April 1st 2021, Circle Cloud delivered a webinar on Office 365 security. It is now more than ever that we need the mobility and flexibility that cloud products like Microsoft 365 offer. That said, given that we don’t always have control over the devices or networks that our remote workers are connecting from, there are plenty of security challenges we’re faced with. The problem therefore is enabling mobility without compromising security.
Microsoft have therefore created and continuously developed a set of products that meet the changing demands of today's workforce. However, with so many products and features to consider, IT managers can often find themselves with decision fatigue when it comes to selecting the ones that suit their organisation's requirements.
At Circle Cloud, our mission is to help our customers solve this problem. The webinar was therefore aimed to look at getting you started by demonstrating the following key Microsoft Cloud Products that are of benefit to all organisations, regardless of size or sector:
- Azure Information Protection
- Single Sign on
- Conditional Access
We have broken the webinar into sections so that you can jump to the ones that are of interest…
An Introduction to Circle Cloud
This is a 9 minute overview, where we introduce the presenters and Circle Cloud as a business
Conditional Access
As a brief summary for those who don’t know much about Conditional Access, it is a product that restricts access to an organisation’s platforms and data by enforcing standards that must be met by a device or network before accessing information. It does this by doing 2 things:
- It collects signals using your organisation’s Active Directory.
- It then evaluates those signals against the policy rules you have put in place using basic ‘if-then’ statements.
Here is the demo from the webinar to give you more of an idea of how this works:

Single Sign-On
As a brief summary for those who don’t know much about Single Sign-On, Single sign-on (SSO) adds security and convenience when your users sign-on to applications in Azure Active Directory. With single sign-on, a user doesn't have to sign into every application they use. The user logs in once and that credential is used for other apps too. Centrally managing passwords also allows IT decision makers to revoke access to ALL company platforms by simply revoking the individual’s Office 365 credentials. No more forgetting to remove access to a user’s various business accounts once they’ve left!

Azure Information Protection
All organisations have business-critical and sensitive information. It is likely that you have those key client lists or that document that you simply cannot afford to lose. In such cases, something as simple as a careless email forward to the wrong person can prove costly. Having an information classification policy is obviously a great place to start, but it’s not enough.
This is where Azure Information Protection (AIP) comes in. It is a cloud-based solution that enables organizations to discover, classify, and protect documents and emails by applying labels to content. It is part of the Microsoft Information Protection Solution and is dedicated to solving the problem of how to label your organisation’s information appropriately to avoid it falling into the wrong hands.

The Closing
Unfortunately, the 1 hour consultation mentioned in the below video was only available for attendees. However, we do cover our purpose-built implementation packs which have been specifically designed for the routine on-boarding of these products across all organisations. It’s definitely worth checking out the last bit so that you can get a flavour of how we make the Microsoft Cloud simpler, allowing you to get the most from it!
